Thoughts On What I'm Doing With My Life
So lately I’ve been thinking a lot about what I’m going to do with my life. I know I have plenty of time to figure it out but I like plans, I’m a compulsive planner because it soothes my anxiety. Whoa, get personal. Anyway, I really like the idea of studying politics and government and there is a part of me that wants to run for office one day. I really would like to go to the...

The Vegan Thing
So I realized I hadn’t posted about the vegan thing in a while. It’s going pretty good actually, I’ve only had a few slip ups. It was really hard when I went to Atlanta because we’d be on the run and all the snacks around were dairy. I learned for the next time I travel to bring all of my own food. At home when I’m surrounded with vegan options it is not hard at all....

Watching E! Makes Me Want To Starve Myself...
I have a secret fetish for crappy television, especially celebrity reality tv shows E!  My particular favorites are Hollys World, Chelsey Lately and Kourtney & Khloe Take Miami. It’s so disgusting, and  I hate myself for it but it’s like a train wreck I can’t look away from. Tonight I was watching Holly World and holly was buying her best friend boobs for her 21st birthday....

You have said my no longer eating meat is “pretentious”, that I’m a “snob”, that it’s “boring” and that my health reasons are “one million years out of date”. Here’s the problem. As usual, when your beliefs are contradicted after you have made fun of me because “Ooh, isn’t it fun to laugh at… Dear Josh, I <3 You and Your Blog!

A Small Get Away
From what, I’m sure you’re wondering. Today (rather 3 hours from now …yeaah 4 am wake up and I’m still not asleep) I am heading off to Atlanta. My mom has work down their and I’m following her down there to visit a friend. I’m so excited to see him and also to to get away for a little bit.  I have a couple of jobs lined up for the next couple of weeks though! I...

Vegan Day Two!
I just want to preface this post by saying I am not only going to blog about veganism for the remainder of this blog, but it’s something I want to discuss again.  So today is my second day of being vegan and its been pretty great. Because yesterday I did have bread with dairy in it, today has been my first total dairyless day. It honestly hasn’t been that hard, probably because I am...

Going Vegan! Day 1
Granted its 12:35 am but so far this vegan thing is going pretty great.  So yes, I have decided to go vegan. I’ve been a vegetarian for 2 and a half years, and after a lot of soul searching and thinking I’ve decided to go as far as giving up dairy. Similarly to why I became a vegetarian, it’s more about my personal health then animal rights, although animal rights are apart of...

Is That A Joke?
Earlier I wrote about how Obama was trying to reinstate the deep water drilling ban that was reversed a few months ago. Well the appeal was rejected. Awesome. Theres only the largest oil disaster ever recorded going on, no big deal.

US Tries to Reinstate Deeps Sea Drilling Ban...
Well theres a good fucking idea. We’re only in the middle of one the worst natural disasters in US history and it’s all thanks to off shore drilling.  The six month ban had been struck down last month by US District Judge Martin Feldman. I find it interesting that Martin Felman tried the case last month because from my perspective, a 17 year old wanna be law student, it seems to be a...

Fuck Yes Dan Choi!
Soldiers who were arrested outside of the White House while protesting Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell aren’t going down without a fight. Led by Dan Choi and James Pietrangelo, they will be subpoenaing President Barack Obama at their hearing by claiming they were just following the the Commander In Chiefs orders!  The soldiers were arrested for Failure to Obey a Lawful Order during two D.C...

She Lost Her Identity?
The other day I was getting my  nails done (an attempt to bond with my mother) and Extra! (the trashy celebrity news show) was on in the background. Elizabeth Edwards popped up on the screen, she had been on the Today show talking about her experience with…well being cheated on, I guess. The narrators voice sympathized with Ms.Edwards saying she had “lost her identity”. Being the...

A New Dream...
I think when I get older I want to move to Portland, Oregon. Everyone says its a really liberal community that is very involved in activism. The pictures make it seem really beautiful. Maybe I’ll go there on a spring break trip next year, I have a real desire to go I think.

Elena Kagan
So Elena Kagan has been nominated to be the next Supreme Court justice and has been going through hearings for the past couple of days. After some research I have luke warm feelings about Ms. Kagan. Naive, campaigning for Obama Gina who use to have faith in the government/ the hope the Obama administration would think Kagan is great! However, I have started to look more critically at the...
